Upgraded and Magnificent: The 19th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2026) to Shine in Beijing in April 2026
Fully upgraded, the magnificent 2026 (19th) Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as “Auto China 2026”) will be held from April 24 to May 3, 2026, at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and the Capital International Exhibition Center of China (CIECC) in Beijing.
Since it started in 1990, the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China) has progressed hand-in-hand with the rapidly developing Chinese automotive industry. Having witnessed and embraced the integration and transformation of the Chinese and foreign automotive sectors, it has become a crucial biennial event for the international automotive industry in China and stands as the most authoritative and influential international A-class auto show in the country.
The Auto China 2024 achieved tremendous success. The show featured 117 world premieres, including 30 global debuts by multinational companies, 41 concept cars, and 278 new energy vehicles. Nearly 500 renowned automotive parts manufacturers and technology companies from 13 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. During its 10-day run, the event attracted 892,000 visitors, setting a new attendance record in the history of the Auto China. Over 23,000 media professionals attended, including 1,148 foreign journalists from 956 media outlets across 131 countries and 21,812 domestic journalists from 6,395 media organizations. On the first media day, 7,401 overseas dealers attended, and throughout the exhibition, the total number of international visitors reached 28,000. The spectacle of the event remains unforgettable.
The Auto China 2026 will mark a historic milestone in its development. For the first time, the event will fully utilize all exhibition spaces at both the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and the Capital International Exhibition Center of China (CIECC), achieving a record-breaking total exhibition area of 380,000 square meters, making it the leading auto show in the world. This expansion will address previous limitations on the scale of the exhibition, fulfilling the long-anticipated expectations of exhibitors and visitors. It will also enable more brands to participate, bringing the Auto China into a new era. Exhibitors' needs will be better accommodated, while hardware facilities and the exhibition experience will see significant upgrades and improvements.
The Capital International Exhibition Center of China, located at 55 Yudong Road, Shunyi District, is adjacent to the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) to the north and south. It will officially begin full operations in February 2025. During the Auto China 2026, the two venues will be seamlessly connected and jointly operated. The Capital International Exhibition Center of China features nine halls, each covering approximately 22,000 square meters, with a total exhibition area of 250,000 square meters. It houses multiple conference facilities, including a main hall of 5,000 square meters capable of accommodating 3,000 attendees. The halls are equipped with movable partitions to meet various event requirements. Additionally, the underground parking lot provides 4,000 spaces. Nicknamed the “purple and gold ribbon,” symbolizing the spirit of building the Belt and Road Initiative, the center represents China's commitment to connectivity and openness. As the largest, most functional, and technologically advanced comprehensive exhibition facility in Beijing, the Capital International Exhibition Center of China is a key project supporting the city's “Four Centers” strategy. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing the hardware foundation of the Auto China, driving its upgrade and expansion, and boosting its global influence.
Since its completion in 2008, the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) has been a familiar venue for the Auto China. To further enhance its service quality and deliver a premium experience to exhibitors and visitors, the center will complete a comprehensive upgrade before the Auto China 2026. This includes renovating all restrooms, installing digital access gates machines, updating the signage system, fully replacing the lighting system, and upgrading key areas such as VIP lounges, the South Square, the South Registration Hall, the loading zone, and the central garden. Additionally, diverse dining areas will be introduced to improve catering facilities. These enhancements will empower the Auto China with high-standard facilities and services.
The Auto China 2026's comprehensive upgrade allows automakers, parts suppliers, and related industries to showcase their offerings in a unified space. This setup will facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between vehicle manufacturers and their upstream and downstream supply chain partners. It will also provide visitors with a convenient and immersive experience to understand the current state and trends of the automotive industry chain and supply chain.
The Auto China 2026 will span 10 days, with Media Days scheduled for April 24 and 25, Professional Visitors’ Days for April 26 and 27, and Public Days from April 28 to May 3.
